Fence maintenance in Basingstoke

We'll Keep Your Fence Looking Great!

We carry out all types of fence maintenance, focusing specifically on treating your fence with a dedicated wood finish to ensure it is sealed and protected from the elements.

We usually advise our customers to try and treat their fence at least once every couple of years, which ensures that the fence is sealed and remains in the best possible condition without wearing away.

We use a wide range of the industry standard products and will be more than happy to work closely with you to ensure we match the look and feel of your fence, so that everything blends in.

We can also assist in treating fences that are steel and iron, and while generally these are more robust against weather, they may need re-coating and treatment from time to time.

We can also help with reinforcing any
weak panels or posts, to make sure that the structural integrity of your fence is maintained.

In our experience, having a weak post or panel is the major cause of fencing damage, as this weakness is exposed in bad weather, leading to damage to the fence.

By making sure that each panel is strong and sturdy, you will ensure that your fence remains intact, you matter what the elements throw at you.

We can also assist in removing vegetation along your fence line, which can cause unwanted pressure on your fencing foundation, leading to weakness and damage down the line.

How Often Should I Protect My Fence?

You may be wondering how often you should apply a protective sealant to your fence?

Ideally we'd advise that you do this at least once a year if possible, but if not, then at least once every 2-3 years

This will ensure that your fence panels are protected all year round from the tough weather and that they last as long as possible.

Of course, we're happy to assist you with applying any products to your fence, and we'll go out of our way to make sure that your fence receives the best performing sealant possible.

What Sort of Oil Should I Use on My Fence?

Using a high quality oil on your fence is the perfect way to make sure it stands the test of time, and that you don't find yourself needing to replace any panels after a short period of time.

We'd recommend using any good quality decking oil, which should help protect the panel and stop it from breaking down or cracking over time.

These types of oils provide great protection and they come in a range of different colours (including clear), so that they match the look and feel of your fence perfectly.

It's also a good idea to provide a double layer of protective oil, especially if your fence hasn't been treated for a while. This will ensure that the panel is lathered in the oil, and that it does not wear down, split or warp over time.

How to Clear Algae From My Fence

A common problem is when green algae forms on the panels of your fencing, as this can not only cause damage to the fence over time, but also effect the look and feel of the fence in general.

Our recommendation for clearing algae from your fence is to use a hard brush, that has firm bristles.
Once this is done you'll then need to make sure that you remove any mould and mildew with a good quality removal agent.

Lastly, once your fence panel is free of all algae and mould, then apply a protective sealant oil to the fence to make sure that it is sealed and protected for the future.
